I started a new site with the intention to have it only be about my company, but as I was searching for area resources, I realized that no one place existed with information about products sewn in Vermont. So, I made one. Come on over to VermontSewn.com and all the cool stuff you can buy that is made in the great state of Vermont!

Just a quickie post to let you know I have a few scooter seat covers up on ebay this week. All have a buy-it-now price of $10 off the retail price, and I’m offering free shipping for a limited time. Half of the selling price of the Honda Metropolitan scooter seat cover goes to Accident Scene Management, Inc., a non-profit with the mission to reduce injuries and fatalities to motorcyclists by learning what to do at the scene of a motorcycle crash until professional help arrives. Thanks for your support, and good luck!

Nellie in her hunting-season finery.
I always put an orange bandana on our dog during hunting season in Vermont so she is seen by hunters (I put on hunter orange, too, when I walk her). Inspired by the upcoming new season of Project Runway, this morning I made Nellie this designer hunter-orange outfit so she doesn’t need to wear that dingy ol’ bandana any more. Dwayne won’t like it, but hey, a girl has to do what a girl has to do. The main fabric is orange paw-print velboa. Lined with orange and cream check fleece, this snappy doggy jacket easily goes from day to night with its reflective piping and faux-tiger collar. I think Tim Gunn would be proud.
p.s. No, I’m not going into business making dog jackets, I just needed a break from sewing scooter seat covers. ![]()

scooter seat covers now made in Vermont October 29, 2007

I’m sorry the blog has been so quiet! Scooter seat covers is now officially in Vermont, after a hectic search for a place to rent, hectic packing, a hectic move, and then hectic unpacking. The timing wasn’t that great as far as orders go, since it was right a the end of peak season and the queue for orders was already 4+weeks. I worked right up to last minute, but of course moving always takes more time and energy and cleaning than I think it’s going to!
Here are all the seats, all in a row in the new sewing studio. More pics to come!

As many of you know, I’ve been involved for months planning a long distant ride to Vermont in order to take part in a fundraising ride for the non-profit Gifford Medical Center’s end-of-life care. About 333 miles into the ride yesterday, my Vespa ET4 died, and I’m stuck kind of in the middle of nowhere waiting to be rescued. I have to buy a pricey part (CDI) and hope to get it installed before Saturday. While I’m probably not going to be able to get it fixed for this weekend’s ride, I’m still hoping you can help me out. How? Order a scooter seat cover by Friday August 31, and I’ll send it for free. That’s a savings of $6.99 to $14.99. I’ll also make you a matching key chain, FREE! Plus, I’ll donate $5 for each scooter seat cover order for the next week to Gifford Medical Center’s end of life care. Thank you for your support!
